“A service user with complex needs residing at Orchid Assisted Living was referred to the Forensic Outreach Liaison Service due to risk of violence towards others. This referral was made prior to their transition to Orchid. Since being at Orchid, there has been a significant reduction in violence towards others. It was clear from speaking to staff that they have taken a holistic and person-centred approach to implementing care plans and developing risk assessments that best meet the needs of this particular service user, and doing so in collaboration with the service user. In addition to this, the service users core team has been selected based on the needs of the service user. The service user now has positive meaningful occupation, including regular access to the community, more independence, less incidents and what would appear to be an improved quality of life."
